YEAR OF RELEASE: 2019

GENRE: Romantic Comedy, Fantasy, Crime

STARRING: Park Bo-Young, Ahn Hyo-Seop

# OF EPISODES: 16

SYNOPSIS:

Go Se-Yeon is a beautiful prosecution lawyer at the top of her game, and Cha Min is her friend, an unattractive but rich heir to a cosmetics empire. They are both revived into different bodies by supernatural beings using an "Abyss" after their deaths in separate incidents. The "Abyss" is a celestial object which has the power to revive anything that has died; the reincarnated bodies take on the appearance of that person's soul. Go Se-Yeon (Park Bo-Young) takes on a plainer appearance, whilst Cha Min (Ahn Hyo-Seop) becomes very attractive and young; virtually the opposite of before. They start working together to find out the reason for their revival and who caused Go Se-Yeon's death.

REACTION:
This show took me two tries to watch. I watched the first episode and then I stopped because I have
never been a fan of “ugly guy-turned pretty-then girl falls in love with him” stories. But since my girl
Park Bo-Young was in it I gave it another chance and I actually ended up really liking it!

The storyline was way better than I thought it was. The concept of an object having the ability to bring
someone back to life in the form of their soul was cool. The fact that it is also a crime show made it
even more exciting. Of course there were times when I was just saying “WTF” to myself when Cha
Min did something wrong but that’s what made the show better.

The story between the main characters was both cute and hilarious. I am a fan of Park Bo-Young and
after watching this show I became a fan of Ahn Hyo-Seop. Their chemistry in the show was great and
it made watching the drama easier. *Fun Fact: Ahn Hyo-Seop is Canadian-Korean. This will be
a “good-to-know” for a scene in episode 6.

Also, the supporting characters were hilarious too. Especially Park Dong-Cheol (Lee Si-Eon).
First of all Lee Si-Eon is a hilarious actor. Literally everything I have seen him in he is funny (especially
in “W”). He did a great job at bringing that funny personality to his character in this drama.

But don’t get me wrong. Even though this is a pretty funny show, it will still make you cry at times so
be advised.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO:
  • Anyone who likes cute relationship moments
  • Anyone who likes mystery/crime plots
  • Anyone who likes funny character dynamics

FAVORITE SONG FROM OST:
Hands down “Into The Abyss” by SURAN and Coogie is my favorite song from this OST. I slap this
song so hard it's ridiculous. I even learned Coogie’s rap parts (I still need to look at the Hangul lyrics
but I’m getting there). The feel of the song is like mystery meets hip hop. The song has an ominous
feel to it (especially when SURAN sings) and then once Coogie raps it’s like “BAM!”. And then before
you know it you are playing this song on full volume on your way home from work not caring about the
other cars looking at you dancing at the stop light…

Honorable Mention: “Fallin” by Kim Feel, “Stay” by Bohyung Kim
